Hunter Valley
100% family owned, five generations of wine making.
History of winery

The Drayton family has a long association with the Hunter Valley Region of Australia.  Today, they represent one of the few remaining original families still operating within the Australian wine Industry.  In the Hunter Valley, they are the only two of the original wineries established still maintaining an unbroken line of family winemakers.
In 1853 Joseph Drayton first arrived in the Hunter Valley. By the end of that decade the first Drayton wines were being produced.
Today, the tradition is in the hands of Max Drayton and his sons.  The vines first planted by Joseph still exist and bearing fruits. These fruits are specially selected to make wines of the highest quality.
